The Jeep up close
The pure retro experience
A 28-year-old Cherokee XJ with the legendary 4.0 litre petrol engine and more than 420,000 km behind it – restored from the ground up. No electronic driver assists, so it feels rougher and more direct than a modern car. Made for slow travel, classic road trips and tight forest tracks down to the lake.
We added an offline navigation tablet, bright LED headlights, a Victron power system and a custom slide-out kitchen in the back. The soft-top rooftop tent sleeps 4–5 people on 1.85 × 2.40 m, with 360° windows and two skylights. It is up or packed away in about ten minutes, and the bedding stays inside.
What travels with you
Recovery & protection
3.5-ton winch, recovery kit, extensive underbody armour, bottle jack and 33″ mud-terrain tyres for mud, wet roots and rock.
Off-grid power
200 A lithium dual battery with Victron system, USB and 230 V up to 500 W. Charges while driving, by solar blanket (on request) or shore power.
Kitchen
40 l Engel fridge/freezer on a slide-out, custom slide-out kitchen, 2-burner gas stove, pots and pans, plates, cups, cutlery, spices, Dutch oven, Snow Peak fire bowl and grill.
Camp
Table and chairs, lantern, Thermacell mosquito repeller (keeps midges and mosquitoes away from camp), portable toilet with privacy tent, 2 × 2 m awning, tent walls on request.
Safety
Full first aid kit, fire extinguisher, shovel, air compressor, tyre repair kit, knife, axe and saw.
Summer only
The Jeep runs on mud-terrain tyres and has no winter tyres, so it can’t be booked in winter. For winter trips, take the Grenadier or the Discovery.
